My current "go-to" face. (May 2017)

I've been spending the month of May with my in-laws who were visiting for a few weeks. I have no idea where time went and I was constantly drained from too much happiness which is why it has been a bit quiet from me.

During this time I got the Kat Von D Beauty Shade + Light eye palette and I've been OBSESSED! I never really saw it as much, I saw it as an over hyped palette, just the way I felt about the Urban Decay Naked palettes.

Anyhow, I'll stop myself from a rant right now and share with you what my daily combo has been for the month of May with alternating shimmers.
Shadows from the Shade + Light Palette unless mentioned otherwise. Full face details will be on my Instagram @cynthiaiskillikill.

Start: Prime lids and along the lower lash line, pat gently up to the brow bone.
(Nail wraps are Chainmail by Espionage Cosmetics)
Apply Laetus from the crease up to the brow bone with a pointed fluffy brush. Apply Ludwin using the same brush along the hollow of the eye.
Apply Samael on the outer V and along the lower lash line using a smaller pointed fluffy brush.
*Making sure I'm on the right track*
Apply Succubus with the brush used for the previous shade in the crease and lower lash line.
Optional: Apply Shax along the lashes with a thin/flat brush, gently smudge any leftover along the lower lash line. It doesn't need to be perfect. Use eyeliner/liquid liner for a more dramatic look as a finisher, this will however do the job for a day look.
Now, I don't blend my shadows until this step. Apply Latinus from the crease blending downwards with a domed fluffy brush. Don't forget the lower lash line. Using the same brush apply Lucius between the brow bone and crease to fade any harsh lines.
Inner corner pop using LoS pressed shadow from the DPS palette by Espionage Cosmetics (now available for preorder!!!).
From F.A.I.R. Beauty Cosmetics apply Playful Pixie on the inner half of the lid and Blazing Unicorn on the outer lid for a subtle gradient.
Lash curling and mascara, using Still Cosmetics Stay All Day Waterproof Volumizing Mascara here.
And done!

  1. Yay! I love that palette, too! And I actually NEVER use the two Naked palettes I hung on to (Naked2 because it's good for the silvery tones and because it was the first one I got so it was used a lot for practice & Naked Smoky which is actually decent, I just don't find myself reaching for it). But the Shade+Light, I use all of the time. I have used it for contouring (the big taupey pan-better mixed with a little Bronzer), blush (the big peachy pan), and eyebrows...of course eyes, too. My three big pans are about half gone. Can't wait until the shimmer one comes out! Did you get the plastic one? Are the pans removable? I have the cardboard one because I got it on release.

    1. Haha! I just never liked the Naked ones as they had shimmers, I have plenty (PLENTY!) of shimmers as it is. All matte palettes aren't really common. I got the cardboard one! I didn't even know they were doing refill for the eye palette!!! Thought it only was for the face contour one... But seeing how much I've used it already I wouldn't mind buying the refill one later on. But so happy! Will be playing with more shades at have been pushed to the back of my drawer now that I'm doing more pops of shimmer.
